A marketplace is a system for turning many inconsistent sources into one dependable customer experience. Sellers, distributors, APIs, feeds, and public sources rarely describe products in the same way. Titles, categories, attributes, identifiers, prices, stock, media, and delivery information have to be collected, mapped, validated, searched, and kept current.
We build marketplace backends, catalog ingestion systems, seller and source adapters, product search, review workflows, administrative tools, product feeds, and integrations with commerce and advertising platforms. The work can support a new marketplace or improve a live catalog whose data quality, freshness, or search performance has become a commercial constraint.
Catalog ingestion and schema mapping
Ingestion is designed as a long-running product capability rather than a one-off import. Source adapters feed queues and transformation pipelines; records are normalised into a shared schema; changes are detected; invalid or ambiguous rows move into review; retries and backoff protect the system when an external source degrades.
When official APIs do not expose the required fields or volume, collection has to be engineered for change. We monitor extraction success, selector failures, block rates, throughput, duplicate rates, and the age of inventory. Source-specific logic remains isolated so one broken adapter does not compromise the whole catalog.
Product search and distribution
Marketplace search requires more than matching text. We work with Elasticsearch and related search infrastructure for category filters, attributes, availability, ranking signals, synonyms, and inventory-aware results. The data model is designed to support both customer search and operational questions such as which sources are stale or which products are missing required attributes.
The same catalog can power an e-commerce storefront, marketplace listings, Merchant Center, advertising feeds, partner exports, and internal tools. Our data engineering and analytics work supports pipeline monitoring and catalog-quality reporting, while software engineering covers the APIs, queues, permissions, and interfaces around the marketplace.
The objective is a marketplace that stays current as its sources, inventory, and distribution channels change.
Turning many sources into one usable market
Marketplace work begins with inconsistency. Suppliers describe the same attribute differently, identifiers collide, inventory changes faster than imports complete, and duplicate products damage both search and trust. We build ingestion around source-specific adapters, a canonical schema, validation, provenance, deduplication, and review queues. An operator can see why a record was rejected or merged and correct the rule rather than patching one row forever.
On top of reliable catalog data we develop search, filtering, ranking, availability, seller tooling, moderation, feeds, analytics, and transaction workflows. Architecture reflects how the marketplace earns money and who owns the customer relationship. The result is not merely a large database; it is a controlled process for accepting, improving, distributing, and measuring changing supply.
